VIAGS TAN SON NHAT ORGANIZED THE CEREMONY OF THE 40-YEAR-OLD PARTY BADGE; PRELIMINARY SUMMARY OF PRODUCTION AND BUSINESS ACTIVITIES IN THE FIRST 6 MONTHS OF 2020 AND CELEBRATING 73rd ANNIVERSARY OF WAR INVALIDS & MARTYRS DAY

On the morning of July 27, 2020, at the Conference Hall of the 6th floor - VIAGS Operator Center, VIAGS Tan Son Nhat held the Ceremony of the 40-year-old Party badge, Preliminary summary of production and business activities in the first 6 months of 2020 and the meeting, gratitude to retired staff members , war invalids and martyrs 'relatives working at VIAGS Tan Son Nhat on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2020).

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Bui Duc Thanh - Standing member of the Party Committee/ Deputy General Director of VIAGS, Mr. Tran Dinh Tao - Deputy Chief of Administrative Office, Politician of the VIAGS Military Branch, Mr. Bui Minh Phuong - Vice President of VIAGS Trade Union; Party Committee / Board of Directors of VIAGS Tan Son Nhat; cadres and party members of the Party's sections and Party Cells; retired staff members, comrades are war invalids, martyrs' relatives, together with collectives and individuals, successfully completed the first 6 months of 2020 tasks of VIAGS Tan Son Nhat.

Opening this special and meaningful event, the Party Committee of the VIAGS Tan Son Nhat solemnly held the Ceremony of the 40-year-old Party badge to comrade Cu Hoang Quoc - a Party Cell member of the Operations Center.

This is not only a personal joy, Comrade Quoc, a former infantry soldier of the C18 Company, the 196th Regiment, the 338 Division had participated in the fierce border war, but it is also the pride of the Party Committee. VIAGS Tan Son Nhat, of family, collective, unit where he is working, local place of residence.

On behalf of the Party Committee / Board of Directors of the Company and Branch, Comrade Bui Duc Thanh thanked Mr. Cu Hoang Quoc and other members for the Party building and unit building work over the years. On the 73rd anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs 'Day, he sincerely thanked to war invalids and martyrs' relatives for their great contributions to the cause of building and protecting the country; Thanked to the staff of VIAGS Tan Son Nhat for accompanying and joining the Corporation, the Company and Branch in coping with the difficulties and challenges caused by the Covid-19 epidemic. He believed that with the determination and perseverance of the Party committees, authorities and unions based on collective strength, VIAGS will overcome all difficulties and challenges, expressing the spirit: "Aspiration - Reaching High - Pride - Innovation ".

Comrade Cu Hoang Quoc - a party member who was awarded the Party's 40-year-old badge, expressed his emotion and honor to receive the 40-year-old Party badge. He promised to continue striving efforts, contribute effort, wisdom, exemplary, well perform the tasks of the Communist Party member in the Party's renewal. 

After finishing the ceremony to award the 40-year-old Party badge, it was the Meeting and gratitude for retired employees, war invalids and martyrs' relatives on date July 27.

On this occasion, on behalf of the Party Committee / Board of Directors, Comrade Bui Duc Thanh sent flowers and souvenirs to express the gratitude of the staff of VIAGS Tan Son Nhat to the retired staff, comrades are war invalids, relatives of martyrs' family. The meeting took place in a warm, close and emotional atmosphere; expresses sincere feelings, deep gratitude to the great contributions of retired employees, the sacrifices and loss of comrades who are invalids and relatives of martyrs' families working at the unit.

The artistic performances of the VIAGS Tan Son Nhat Performing Team revived the national heroic spirit.

On behalf of VIAGS Tan Son Nhat retired staff, Mr. Cu Hoang Quoc said that all retired officers are always interested in and follow up on all activities of the company and are proud of the company's increasingly new development , won many achievements in the process of operation.

On behalf of the staff members who are relatives of the martyrs' families, Mr. Le Dinh Chinh - Deputy Team Leader, Apron Service Center - thanked VIAGS leaders for their attention to policy families, continued family tradition he will actively strive to further contribute to the development of the Company as well as the common development of the country.

Mr. Tran Dinh Tao - Deputy Chief of Administrative Office, Politician of the VIAGS Military Command and Mr. Bui Duc Thanh - Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of VIAGS Tan Son Nhat presented flowers to staff who are invalids and martyrs’s family members.

Following the event was the summary of production and business activities of VIAGS Tan Son Nhat in the first 6 months of 2020. In the solemn atmosphere of the Conference, the Board of Directors of VIAGS Tan Son Nhat enthusiastically praised and awarded 29 individuals and 6 collectives had successfully completed the tasks in the first 6 months of 2020.

13 individuals from the Passenger Service Center successfully completed the tasks in the first 6 months of 2020.

16 individuals successfully completed the tasks in the first 6 months of 2020 of the Operations Center, Apron Service, Cabin Cleaning and Offices.

5 collectives have successfully completed the first 6 months of 2020 tasks:

1. Domestic Passenger Service Team - Passenger Service Center           

2. Luggage Service Team - Passenger Service Center           

3. Stacking Instruction Team - Operation Center           

4. Apron Service Team 1 - Apron Service Center           

5. Cabin Cleaning Service Team - Cabin Cleaning Service Center           

At the conference, Mr. Bui Duc Thanh - Deputy General Director of VIAGS/Director of VIAGS Tan Son Nhat briefly presented the results of production and business activities in the first 6 months of the year and directions and tasks for the last 6 months of the year. He focused on the work of ensuring security, safety and punctuality for flights; Besides, in the period of the complicated and unpredictable Covid-19 epidemic, staff should seriously take measures to protect themselves, their family and society.

The achievements and valuable lessons of individuals and groups today will add motivation and inspiration for VIAGS Tan Son Nhat staff to continue their efforts and strive to successfully complete the tasks of last 6 months of 2020 have been set.

As part of a series of activities "Giving gratitude " on the anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs, on July 25, 2020, the grassroots Trade Union Executive Committee combined with the VIAGS Tan Son Nhat Youth Union , by Mr. Nguyen Vinh Hung - Deputy Director, Chairman of Trade Union VIAGS Tan Son Nhat, leading the delegation - held incense offering to commemorate the heroic martyrs at Ben Duoc - Cu Chi Memorial Temple,.

At the Ben Duoc - Cu Chi martyrs memorial temple, where 44,752 heroic martyrs have fought and sacrificed for the cause of the national liberation revolution, VIAGS Tan Son Nhat staffs lit incense sticks in emotion and respect for the great merits of martyrs who fell for national independence.

Also on this journey, the delegation visited and gave gifts to 2 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Mother Do Thi Sang and Mother Ha Thi Buc, whose husband and children are martyrs in Phu My Hung Commune - Cu Chi District.

Graciously visiting health, family background, the delegation expressed their gratitude for the noble sacrifices of the mothers for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. Thereby, the delegation encourages the mothers to continue living happily and healthy to always be a good example for generations and descendants to follow.

Even at the age of over 90, Mother Do Thi Sang is still healthy and lucid. Mother expressed her thanks and expressed her emotion towards the attention and affection of VIAGS leaders and employees.

This is a very practical activity to give gratitude to the policy families, families with meritorious services to the Revolution. Thereby, showing the spirit of "Drinking water, remember its source", feelings and responsibilities of VIAGS Tan Son Nhat staff towards the relatives of heroes who died in the cause of fighting to protect the country.

Morning of September 24th, 2021, VIAGS Tan Son Nhat has successfully served Charter flight (by HAV Company represented) number 02VQBZV. Utilizing a B747-400 airplane whose seats were removed for cargo, the flight carried a total of 24,868 kg of goods which consist of 18 freights/2,860 packages/15,550 kg in the cabin and 10 freights/9,318 kg in the cargo hold. Exported apparel and footwear were contained and dispatched from Vietnam to South Korea in these freights.

At 3:55 A.M, on September 11th, VIAGS Tan Son Nhat (VTSN) delivered services for a special flight utilizing the military-grade freighter, C-130 Hercules, to obtain 8 tons of medical equipment and materials for fighting against the Covid-19 pandemic. This was the result of the aid from the Poland government to Ho Chi Minh City and it was worth about 4 million USD. The package which consisted of 70 breathing machines, 50 heart-rate monitors, 267 positive displacement pump Biolight, protective clothes, gloves, medical masks, and so more, was transported from India to Vietnam.

Throughout the ‘war’ against emerging COVID – 19 virus variants that are highly contagious, not only the medical force, the police force, and the army but all Vietnamese people have had to experience the expense of this catastrophic impact. Thousands of companies are struggling to survive and millions of workers have lost their jobs or work with greatly reduced income.

Ho Chi Minh’s Tan Son Nhat Airport used to be the busy and bustling hotspot of the country with hundreds of domestic and international flights every day. Yet, ongoing challenges and immense difficulties brought on by the pandemic has affected many. Not only are authorities, airlines and service providers struggling to grapple with the crisis, but the everyday lives of workers and staff here is becoming more difficult than ever.

During this time, the VIAGS’ Tan Son Nhat board of management, the Labor Union, and the Youth Union had quickly taken the initiative to create the “Love Connection Fund” to hasten welfare support for staff in need. From identifying airport staff going through a hard time to buying and transporting food and essential items in the fastest and most convenient way possible. This journey of ‘Knocking on every door – Looking after/Finding those in need’ is a part of the collective support campaigns for VIAGS Tan Son Nhat’s workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Small gift bags consisting of daily necessities such as rice, eggs, canned food, vegetables, and noodles will be delivered to more than 453 employees in need and those that are in isolated or quarantine areas with the hope of supporting and encouraging these families to overcome the difficulties and fully comply with the Government's directives.
