Summary for the Lunar New Year 2018 "Safe, effective, punctual"

On March 23rd, 1818, in Hanoi capital, Vietnam Airport Ground Services Company (VIAGS) held a conference to summarize the service of Lunar New Year to honor the units achieved good in At the same time, Tet creates a forum for exchanging and sharing experiences in organizing, operating and supervising the exploitation activities in the peak season.

Participating and directing the conference included representatives of company leaders, branches and heads of departments and professional agencies. In addition, there are representatives of staff at the Center level, Team level of the units serving directly at the 3 Branches are the main factors to directly serve and bring the success of each flight.

During peak period of Mau Tuat Tet holiday from 05/02 - 26/02/2018, VIAGS with the guideline "Safety, efficiency, punctuality" has tried to serve a total of 15,927 flight (average up 13.14% compared to the Lunar New Year in 2017 and up 23.6% over weekdays) and a total of 2,479,661 visitors (output increased 10.25% compared to the peak of 2017 and increased 18.45% weekdays). The quality indexes in the peak period of Tet were well controlled and met the target, specifically: OTP index with VNA was 99.98%, abnormal baggage rate was 0.043 bales per 1000 visitors (down 89.5% % compared to 2017).

Ms. Luu Thi Hien Ninh, Head of Service Standards Division, reviewed the panorama of service for Tet festival 2018 and commented: "VIAGS staff and staff have completed the tasks in the period the peak period of Lunar New Year 2018 and improve the good of the previous period. Summing up the Tet Emulation program launched by the General Director, the Conference has awarded commendation to the excellent performance group, in which the head office is Noi Bai Branch with the quality index followed by Da Nang Branch and Tan Son Nhat Branch. The awards have contributed to the spiritual well-being as well as honor the efforts of the Agency in contributing to the success of the peak service.
In addition, the conference has created a discussion forum, creating opportunities for participants to share solutions successfully applied at the Branch for key stages such as operation of TTB terrestrial , luggage service at the island, pay baggage luggage at the conveyor and planning, allocation of resources to serve passengers during Tet high season. The solutions bring valuable lessons learned from active planning, the development of an emergency response plan, and a specific resource plan for high time zones. Locate and coordinate well with other agencies and units in the supply chain in order to overcome maximum points of existence, restrict and effectively utilize internal resources.

Speaking at the conference's conclusion, Mr. Nguyen Quang Son, Deputy General Director of VIAGS, said that the success factor of the Highland Festival in 2018 was firstly under the direction of the Board of Directors. In addition, he emphasized the importance of applying the grounded approach based on scientific grounding in overall service planning that would be the key to optimizing labor productivity and effective control tools serving in the peak season.
The conference ended with great success, in which valuable lessons will be spent on each individual's confidence in the upcoming Summer Peak season.

Morning of September 24th, 2021, VIAGS Tan Son Nhat has successfully served Charter flight (by HAV Company represented) number 02VQBZV. Utilizing a B747-400 airplane whose seats were removed for cargo, the flight carried a total of 24,868 kg of goods which consist of 18 freights/2,860 packages/15,550 kg in the cabin and 10 freights/9,318 kg in the cargo hold. Exported apparel and footwear were contained and dispatched from Vietnam to South Korea in these freights.

At 3:55 A.M, on September 11th, VIAGS Tan Son Nhat (VTSN) delivered services for a special flight utilizing the military-grade freighter, C-130 Hercules, to obtain 8 tons of medical equipment and materials for fighting against the Covid-19 pandemic. This was the result of the aid from the Poland government to Ho Chi Minh City and it was worth about 4 million USD. The package which consisted of 70 breathing machines, 50 heart-rate monitors, 267 positive displacement pump Biolight, protective clothes, gloves, medical masks, and so more, was transported from India to Vietnam.

Throughout the ‘war’ against emerging COVID – 19 virus variants that are highly contagious, not only the medical force, the police force, and the army but all Vietnamese people have had to experience the expense of this catastrophic impact. Thousands of companies are struggling to survive and millions of workers have lost their jobs or work with greatly reduced income.

Ho Chi Minh’s Tan Son Nhat Airport used to be the busy and bustling hotspot of the country with hundreds of domestic and international flights every day. Yet, ongoing challenges and immense difficulties brought on by the pandemic has affected many. Not only are authorities, airlines and service providers struggling to grapple with the crisis, but the everyday lives of workers and staff here is becoming more difficult than ever.

During this time, the VIAGS’ Tan Son Nhat board of management, the Labor Union, and the Youth Union had quickly taken the initiative to create the “Love Connection Fund” to hasten welfare support for staff in need. From identifying airport staff going through a hard time to buying and transporting food and essential items in the fastest and most convenient way possible. This journey of ‘Knocking on every door – Looking after/Finding those in need’ is a part of the collective support campaigns for VIAGS Tan Son Nhat’s workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Small gift bags consisting of daily necessities such as rice, eggs, canned food, vegetables, and noodles will be delivered to more than 453 employees in need and those that are in isolated or quarantine areas with the hope of supporting and encouraging these families to overcome the difficulties and fully comply with the Government's directives.
